Elena Rybakina rallied from a set all the way down to defeat Dayana Yastremska on Saturday on the Omnium Banque Nationale, holding off the Ukrainian 5-7, 6-2, 7-5 to set a quarterfinal with Marta Kostyuk.
Rybakina, seeded ninth and ranked No.12, needed to work for it after she squandered a break lead within the opening set and was damaged whereas serving to remain in it, within the twelfth sport.
She rebounded and powered via the second set earlier than turning the tables on Yastremska with a late break for 6-5.
Within the ultimate sport Yastremska saved a trio of match factors and earned a break level, which was erased by a courageous second-serve ace from Rybakina.
The 2023 semifinalist will face Marta Kostyuk, who defeated McCartney Kessler, 5-7 6-3 6-3, within the spherical of 16 on Saturday.
Rybakina has gained two of three earlier conferences with Kostyuk, together with the final two.
