Kevin Garnett: I stroll into the locker room at halftime— I’m used to being in there like: “What are we doing on decide and roll?” “Let’s discuss concerning the recreation.” “Go the Gatorade.” “Get that leg wrapped.” Now? I stroll in and—no person’s within the locker room. I am going to the coaching room—everybody’s chilling, leg up, on the cellphone. “Hey babe, hey woman”—that is halftime. So I’m like: “Aight. I’m OG—let me get all people again within the locker room for a second.” I name everybody in, like: “Yo, what is that this?” And Ricky Rubio goes: “Yeah man, no person needs to speak. Everybody’s on their telephones. We have to work out the decide and roll.” Rubio had an old-school spirit. That was the primary time I noticed this “new period” of locker room habits. So I went to Rubio, Zach LaVine, and Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins wasn’t vocal, however he was a little bit chief. I pulled them apart: “Hear, I respect y’all. You’re the long run. However I’m the OG—and I gotta deliver some conventional stuff in right here.” I advised them: “Y’all can have your phones, but we’re gonna talk for five minutes about the game before the coaches come in.” They usually revered that. -via YouTube / April 25, 2025
