Bianca Andreescu is recovering from an emergency appendectomy—and aiming for a clay-court comeback within the spring.
The 2019 US Open champion introduced her sudden surgical procedure on social media. Surgical procedure has compelled Andreescu out of the Merida Open in Mexico later this month.

A inventive and versatile participant, Andreescu has been affected by an assortment of accidents in recent times. The 2019 Indian Wells champion has not competed since her run to the Tokyo quarterfinals final October, falling to Katie Boulter, 6-2, 6-1.

The Merida Open is ready for February 24-March 2nd.
